The queen is the black rose in nature and thorny around nails, with a long narrow nose, and deeply dark and full hair.
They drink the earliest morning dew before everyone wakes and as soon as the first rays of sun warm the mother earth, the black fairies are gone into the deep dark cradle of the forest.
The witch answers the door to the magical house made up of candy. Everyone is afraid of her until they realize the bloody hand that answers the door and gives a loud roar of laughter is actually a fake trick.
To be continued...
The wands, wings, and halo for all fairies and also for the bees, butterflies, and Tiny Tim the ladybug make costume design a lot more assembly-like and much easier.
ReplyDeleteThe opening scene is an autumnal tea under the trees scene. Next, comes the night of Halloween and dark scene is illuminated with lanterns of children who go trick o treating. Only they all head to candy house owned by the witch. The witch tries to scare them with goofy hand made candy filled body parts. The kids screamed but accepted the candy nonetheless. They all ate a bite and fell to a deep magical dream about being in candy land where all things are made up of candy.
ReplyDeleteNext, comes winter and the little girl who has a sick grandma and goes to the queen for help. The queen walks to the little girl's house, bundled in warm clothes, carrying armfuls of Christmas gifts and yummy treats. When they get there, Grandma is up and about, a little worried about not having wood for fire or any food to eat. When the queen arrives with her granddaughter, the old lady cheers to laughter. They sit down quickly and share the contents of the queen's basket. Sure enough, she has lots of delectable jams and jellies, scones, gourmet sandwiches, and delicious bread. Grandma quickly makes some tea. She apologizes to the queen for not using fine china or having great tea at hand. The queen sips through her steaming cup gratefully and assures everyone that their tea is much better than the fancy watered down tea she drinks at her palace. Everyone laughs. Grandma is still not assured that the queen would prefer having tea in her little and poorly dressed cottage instead of her own palace.
